Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Smaranly (the "Service"), operated by [OWNER-TODO: legal entity name] ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility (18+)

The Service is intended only for individuals who are 18 years of age or olderand legally able to enter into a contract. During onboarding you must confirm your age; we do not knowingly permit use by, or collect data from, anyone under 18.

2. What Smaranly is

Smaranly is an educational study aid for civil-services (UPSC CSE) preparation, built around spaced repetition, confidence calibration, and concept "capsules". It is a learning tool only. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) or any government body, and it does not guarantee any exam result, score, rank, or selection.

3. Your account

Accounts are created and authenticated through our identity provider. You are responsible for keeping your login secure and for activity under your account. Provide accurate information, keep it current, and do not share your account or impersonate others.

4. Acceptable use

• Use the Service only for your own lawful, personal, non-commercial study.
• Do not copy, scrape, bulk-download, resell, redistribute, or create derivative products from the content or question bank.
• Do not reverse-engineer, disrupt, overload, or attempt to bypass access controls.
• Do not upload unlawful content or material that infringes someone else's rights.
• Do not misuse AI features to generate harmful, unlawful, or infringing output.

5. Content and intellectual property

The capsules, questions, explanations, figures, and software are our own original work or are used under licence, and are protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use them for your own study. You keep ownership of the notes and inputs you create; you grant us the limited rights needed to operate the Service (for example, to store and process your study data to schedule your reviews).

6. Beta and payments

The Service is currently offered in beta, free of charge, with all features available. We may introduce paid plans in future; if we do, pricing and terms will be shown before you are charged, and you will not be charged during the beta.

7. AI features

Where AI-assisted features are available, their output may be inaccurate or incomplete and is not professional, legal, medical, or financial advice. Verify anything important against authoritative sources.

8. Disclaimers

The Service and its content are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted availability. You are responsible for how you use the material in your preparation.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses, or for loss of data, opportunity, or exam outcomes, arising from your use of the Service. [OWNER-TODO: liability cap / carve-outs — confirm with counsel.]

10. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms or to protect the Service. You may stop using the Service at any time and delete your account and data from Settings → Privacy.

12. Governing law
